Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Lawson cypress / False cypress

Upright, columnar conifer with branches drooping at tips. Full hardy. Bears flattened sprays of scale-like aromatic grey in turned leaves and globular cones either red or green. Ht. 5-12m. Sprd. 2-3m. Grows in shade once established and in any soil.
