Lysichiton americanus

Spreading perennial. Clumps of lge upright leaves, on short stalks, bright green darkening with age, flwrs emerge with or before leaves, a yellow spathe shields a green spandex within, which matures to yellow, April-Jun. Ht. 30-150cms, damp, shady site.
